Microsoft developer Michael Kordahi has constructed BlindSearch or, as he likes to call it, “the search engine taste test.”

If you are a Twitter user, you might be aware of the buggy but extremely useful “real time search” that helps you keep tab of events by the second. Ever wondered how it would be if Google offered this option?
Now, if you perform a Google search, you already get detailed options to customize your search to display results that were quite recent. It was in May that Google enhanced this “time frame limited” search options. However, even with these options, the search was hardly real time - partly because the search option only had the option to display results from Any time, Past year, Past week, Recent results and Past 24 hours. Moreover, as mentioned earlier, even “Past 24 hours” ain’t real time in today’s era of Twitter and real time updates. So, if there were some of you who were actually looking forward to Google offering real time search results, guess what? Google actually HAS an option to search real-time. It’s just that they aren’t telling you this.

Like a balding hipster who imitates a young trendsetter’s style, Facebook is updating itself to look a lot more like Twitter.
Unlike Facebook, where friends mutually agree to let one another into their online lives, Twitter lets people share updates and links with anyone who cares to read them.
That has turned Twitter into a tool for people to peer into the collective mind and see what people are talking about in real time. It is also a tool for businesses to reach customers and monitor what their customers are saying about them.
Facebook seems to be very interested in those features. Since last fall, when Facebook tried and failed to acquire Twitter, it has been slowly introducing features that mimic Twitter.

LG’s theme for its TVs at IFA 2009 is ‘Live Borderless’. This consumer electronic version of the Schengen Agreement is based on panels without visible borders.
Two ‘Borderless’ Full HD LCD panels, the SL8000 and SL9000, use a new injection compression moulding technique that creates a sleek, uninterrupted glasslike surface.
A special sheet of laminate film covers the televisions’ front surfaces, eliminating the line between the screen and the bezel while also reducing glare. The result is a uniform, seamless surface from edge-to-edge, with no visible frame.
