Samsung Unveils Thinnest Flash Memory Chip

Samsung unveiled a multi-chip memory package that it claims is the thinnest ever, for smartphones, portable media players, laptops and other mobile electronics.

The package measures just 0.02 of an inch thick and packs 32 GB of storage. The device is 40% thinner and lighter than a conventional memory package, according to the vendor.

Walmart to give BlackBerry buyers $100 gift cards

Walmart said on Wednesday that it will offer buyers of the BlackBerry smartphones it carries a $100 gift card to use in store for whatever they want. This promotion will only last one week, and will start at 8am on November 14th. The BlackBerry handsets will also need to have two-year contracts attached to them from either AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon.

Apple has refreshed its 13.3-inch polycarbonate white MacBook with unibody enclosure and LED-backlit display. New Apple MacBook inherits features and technologies mostly from the MacBook Pro lineup. Updated Apple MacBook now looks like an Ice-cool version of 13.3-inch MacBook Pro that was introduced back in July. This new unibody polycarbonate MacBook would be offered for Rs. 56,900 in India and would be made available in the first week of November.

Nokia Sues Apple Over iPhone

Nokia has filed patent infringement litigation against Apple, charging that the iPhone infringes on several Nokia patents.

The litigation, which involves 10 patents, was filed Thursday in the Federal District Court in Delaware. The patents at issue, Nokia said, involve GSM, UMTS (3G WCDMA), and wireless LAN standards.

Microsoft, Google add Twitter Search

Microsoft has announced that it will add live updates from micro-blogging service Twitter to its search engine - Bing. Following that, Google too announced plans for live Twitter updates integration in its search engine. At the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Microsoft mentioned about its public access to public Twitter feed and also got Bing Twitter search beta; only for U.S. residents as of now. Google promised to roll out Twitter integration in its search engine “in the coming months”.

Sony Ericsson Rachael to be Xperia X10?

Sony Ericsson’s much awaited Android based handset, the Rachael has been earlier known as the X3. However, going by latest reports, the phone might be renamed to X10 by the time of its launch in early 2010.

Of course, the identities of these employees have been kept under wraps for obvious reasons. The phone will be officially announced by November.
